games.indie-resource.com
It is not there yet but I want to try to get the effect games server running on a VPS then have it available to us at the sub domain to build games and maybe make some community money off ads and things.
I think it would be neat to be able to host this our self. Anyone have any comments on this?

The requirements say 2 gig ram and 100 gig hard drive. I am thinking for a start we would not need all that but not sure.

Re: games.indie-resource.com
The install instructions are HORRID. Nearly every Perl install breaks, googling is useless. I am stuck at apache with errors that i cannot find resolution. I am going to try again tomorrow but this is seriously a joke. I thought the TMMOKIT was bad!

Re: games.indie-resource.com
Unfortunately, that is just the way a lot of this proprietary-turned-open source stuff is. It was never built for public consumption, and instead was tailored for their company and the people in it. Then they just throw it out there and figure "Who gives a crap? We aren't making anything on it now". Ryzom was apparently the same way.
The indelible lord of tl;dr

Re: games.indie-resource.com
agreed... I was stuck in a 60 degree data room freezing my arse off trying to get this thing installed. Aggravating.
