Okay well i was not sure whether to put this in the Tutorials section or not, but considering that I am building my own 2D engine, it should most likely fit in this Discussion. ( IF not, the newly appointed MODS can exercise their duties =P )
While i still do not have the time to fully prepare tutorials and full working examples, i will shortly upload a quick early version of the engine (Version 0.2).
Agent's Flash RPG Engine
Re: Agent's Flash RPG Engine
Okay here is version 0.2 of the engine: http://agent48.webs.com/
please leave comments/suggestions/crits here...
The main thing i am interested in is performance and loading times. So if i could ask anyone who tries it to tell me if the loading/downloading screen was fine (should be approximately 3 seconds for 512k connection) and actual in-game performance. Note that a performance boost can be gained by switching off the 'mist' feature (selectable option in the quick menu).
Anyway the next features to come include:
- NPC's
- Initial STAT System
- Fading Roof System
- Initial COMBAT System
- Few other nifty graphical features
- GUI
- More extensive options menu
BUG NOTE: I have not added any collision boundaries to the outskirts of the cell, hence you can walk of screen and never come back
Thanks,
- Agent.

Re: Agent's Flash RPG Engine
Glad you like it, i apologize for the crummy artwork, i put this quick example together today in about 30mins -Excluding any of the heavy scripts which i have already pre-made for my school project.
Was the frame rate fine for you halls?

Nice job so far. Had pretty good performance and it took almost no time to load.

Thanks, I have worked on it a bit more, just waiting to fly through my final exams over next couple weeks - after that I will be working full time on it
I also recently started working on a quick flash photo gallery - All the actual photos are externally called for from the server - so the app may load first but photos will take a bit longer to pop up. ( http://agent48.webs.com/PhotoGallery/Gallery1.swf )
