I think the Silverlight vs. Flash argument has just been won. Flash is not going anywhere.

LOL, poor Tim looks so nervous. But that is awesome to see that combination of technology.

Well, Flash vs. Silverlight goes much, much deeper than games (the number 1 use of both is streaming video), but this is definitely interesting
Unity needs some competition in 3D browser-based gaming. Microsoft Word was basically the exact same program for from the Windows 95 version, right up to Word 2004, with the same features. Maybe 1 small feature a version was added, because it reined supreme and there was really no competition. But now, Open Office has made Microsoft step their game up. I am actually having to relearn Word, Excel and Access all over again from the ground-up because they have added so many new features. In just 1 or 2 versions it has been more updated than it has in its entire life, all because it finally has some real competition that is eating away at its userbase. I will be interested to see how this affects Unity for browser-based games!

Umm..no...I think that is just the way he is LOL (or at least he has seemed just like that in all the interviews I have seen haha)!
As far as the actual technology goes, it looks awesome. However, I wish they had addressed a bit more about it. I know this is still probably early, but I wonder what kind of licensing they are going to offer. At this time, I am assuming it is probably comparable to the AAA Unreal license, which means we won't be able to touch it. Also, I wonder how the downloading works. If it is streaming data that is not immediately necessary to the client in the background, that is double awesome. I guess I am just worried about what kind of up-front download you need before you can start playing.

agreed not sure yet, but I am quite sure it is a part of the normal UDK download. all will have access to it like the rest of the engine, Unreal does not give extra features to AAA studios. Just not sure of the release but if you look at Quake online it is quite fast.
I am seeing a serious future to this not for Unreal but the fact adobe knows this is the future and are wiling to adapt and make things happen!
