Can someone please tell me some suggestions on how to get rid of Bots from my forums:X

Thanks halls for telling me abit about the registration thing but i can find the right file to change and i dont know forum codes

Ark just wrote a simple tutorial here on how to add a question to your registration page to hold out the bots. Beyond doing something like that, you would likely want to add something like Re-Captcha, but that can be annoying to many legit users.

Can i not just do what Halls did? if he helps me out a tiny little more

I have been signed-up for this site for so long, I am not actually sure what Halls did lol

Few days ago, he kind of liked changed the registration terms in saying "I agree to these terms.." to not agree.. and to actually accept the terms you need to say i dont agree because bots are most likely coded to go straight through terms..

Oh, that would be easy. Just change the words on the page and then swap the variable names in the script that processes it.

yes just make the disagree button go to the registration link. Be careful to not just switch the two as bots read the source and will see it. To be honest it has been ages since I did that and can't remember where it was. I also added new password fields and jumble some things around to trick them.

I recently fixed MMORPMakers forums by using the same methods and rerouting the registration page. Bots are trained to do one thing. It is quite easy to trick them.

Just go into your ACP_register area and look what you can change.
