Well i've been working on my project and i have a very precise layout for the area. Well I've been debating wither or not to use blender to make the terrain or make it in unity with its own editor. Which would work better? Note i will have later have to add a grid to the area so i can sell off land, idk if that makes a difference.

Unity by far!!! Unity has a very nice terrain system and you can use scripts and triggers for land selling.

Do you know a good tutorial for that? I can't seem to make heads or tails of the unity terrain system. I can get pleasant looking rolling hills but when it comes to making the fine details i want it doesn't seem to work well.

I already use that, it works very well to mass produce my wilderness areas but as for towns. I need a way to make a very precise area, with the exact landmarks i need. Like a mountain summit that i can place the town hall and make a great viewpoint. I know the layout i want for the town but i just can't seem to get it to look right.

Be a matter of playing with it I guess. I know I use that terrain toolkit, then just flatten areas that I need for towns/villages. You can still use the built in terrain editor after using the terrain toolkit and build up areas that need fixing
