Started working on writing applications for the google phone. Wrote my first app today. Just a small text app. Nothing special but hope to soon be making some nice apps for the store. Anyone else ever built phone apps have any advice?
I will post progress.

I plan on getting to Iphone, but as I don't have one to test on. And I don't feel like paying the fees just yet. I haven't done it yet.

bah Iphone is pack with too many games as it is and by the looks of google plans the new google phones will take the market by storm. Note: Android is really friggn weird. I hate the .xml layout files and the defining variables outside of the main program, but eh whatever floats their boat

Unity does have Iphone support. For an additional fee either $300 or $1500. So its not very cheap however Shiva I am not sure if they have emulation or not. I do know that to use Unity Iphone you need a mac and either an Itouch or an Iphone.

you dont actually need the phone but you do need to pay mac for the rights to make a game(like $99) then buy a prgram like unity or shiva($300-$1000) then buy a mac($2000) and then you have to deal with macs OS and the mac fanbois....bah!
I am actually thinking about dumping windows and going to Linux as it is so no way I am going to a mac.

You still need the phone to use Unity3d. It doesn't have an emulator. You hook your phone up to it. And it sends all data to the phone and you play. Apple is very closed source with there phone. Hence why alot of people jailbreak there phone and itouch. They wont even let flash lite on there phone. I swear if google gets flash lite. BAM instance success.
