Shipping off.
I know I haven't contributed too much around here. I mean, I did just come around but I feel like I should let you guys know that tomorrow I'm shipping off to ROTC. For those who don't know, that' "Basic Training" for the Navy. I'll be gone for a minimum of 9 weeks and busy for awhile after that so programming time will be limited. I'd still like to work on my game and continue to help people out when I get the chance so you'll see me around again later.
Goodbye for now,

Best of luck! You have contributed more than you think. Hope it all goes well, and I hope you get some time to yourself to keep working on your game

Re: Shipping off.
oooooo
just remember basic training is a blast. Always keep that in your head. "I am having fun for free in a place where training has been taught for over 100 years. "
Don't volunteer for ANYTHING (driving a truck is pushing a wheelbarrel, data entry is using a typewriter to make 1000 cards for new recruits, there is something else for peeling potatoes and cracking eggs).
Don't let the drill sargeants ever memorize your name, be quite and hidden.
Don't try to impress anyone the first go round of PT. I ran my first PT 2 miles in under 11 minutes. They put me in A class runners and I had to run 3 miles a day in under 18 minutes. My legs are still screwed up from that.

It's terrible of me to note, but that doesn't seem a blast, nor a teaching method with much refinement behind it. Good luck, Nyaar, remember to keep questioning authority, even if it's not the right time to actually ask the questions...

During basic training might be a bad idea.Callan S. wrote:remember to keep questioning authority, even if it's not the right time to actually ask the questions...

Yeah, well, that's part of what they are trying to train...

you got to do what you can to make it through. For me it wasnt so bad, I loved it. Got to throw grenades and shoot things, but other people do not fair so well. They miss mommies titty and get to crying and wanting to go home.
