I cant believe mozilla allows this or left a loop hole for this

http://searchresults.findsearches.com/tech4.html

I only tested on firefox. When you click close it pops up that ad then goes away without closing. Its a loop you cant leave. Amazing what these crooked sites come up with. I mean this makes people definitely not visit the site.

Hitting enter closes it however.

I tried before I read the rest of your post, frustrating to say the least. Got it closed then read the rest of your post. Gah...

Yep, pretty annoying :P However, pretty simple usage of Javascript. Stretch your message box's buttons out of view, and presto, you're an #$^%#&. Can they not turn off the default hotkey, so that enter will not hit the invisible OK button? I don't think it is possible for just that reason, but man would that make it even more #$@%^&@-ish.

EDIT: Curiously, it doesn't do that in Chrome. Instead, to try to keep Chrome users on the page, they use the more typical "history flood" method, where they inject their page 3 or more times into your history, and refill it every time the page is refreshed, so you get stuck in a back-button loop if you don't know to actually bring up the history pane and click the page you want to go back to. I think that gets a lot of inexperienced computer users.

but I wonder why they bother updating their page? Who would return? I don't see anyone bookmarking that garbage.

I have wondered that myself. Maybe they just make it look updated?
