This is the first of the "helpful" posts series, to hopefully get elected as a mod ;)

Contruct is an amazing 2d game maker, with a drag and drop interface, and direct X 9 support. With version 0.99.3 just released I suggest for everyone interested to make cutting edge 2d games on windows to check this app.

Here is the link to the website: http://www.scirra.com i suggest you register at the forums, the community is very active and helpful.

A good place to start is the beginners tutorials , with the ghost shooter tutorial : http://www.scirra.com/learn.php

And finally some screenies:

There is no multiplayer yet to my knowledge, but they said they're going to add it before version 1.0

Like Sakar pointed, multi player support is planned for release 1.0 which is in fact the next release. There is online support in the shape of an HTTP object, but this is only good for downloading updates, scoarboard etc... certainly not suitable for realtime multi play. But don't let this hold you from trying the soft!
