Just apparently you can play the game in real time 3D without the need for glasses, and you can use a slider to adjust the depth perception. I thought it was bad a#$

Graphics were never the focus of the DS, and with good reason IMHO. The PSP has a bit under the graphical capability of a Dreamcast, years after the Dreamcast's time. If the graphics cannot be close to current-gen (and they really can't be in a portable console), it seems to me that they shouldn't be the focus. Instead, the focus of the DS was on different styles of play, and it was obviously a success considering they sold double the the amount of DS' to PSPs.
As far as the 3DS goes, even though "DS" is in the title, I was kind of hoping it was going to follow-through on Nintendo's early announcement that the 3DS was not going to be part of the DS line (at the time, a lot of people commented that it may have been a temporary title). But, like the early announcement years ago that the DS was not going to be the next Game Boy and how--going against that idea--it subsequently and quickly became the de facto Nintendo handheld, it appears that this is the end of the standard DS and all hopes for an upgraded, separate DS successor. I was hoping the 3DS would be a different beast, perhaps leaving the touch-screen and basic DS shape and design behind for something else to reserve space for regular next-gen DS.

I might have to get this just for Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, the new Kid Icarus game, and the new Golden Sun game

Tomb Raider was a bad Dreamcast game lol. It was just a PS1 port with minor upgrades. Technically, they have about the same graphical power. PSP definitely doesn't have the graphical power of the PS2. It is about 20 - 25% weaker. That is still good for a handheld, but it seems it wasn't good enough for Sony to have rested their hat on.
And yeah, the kind of rough part about the 3DS is that you won't see the 3D effect until you have it in your hand. You can't see it in any of the videos for the games, you won't be able to see it in any pictures on the box, etc. 3D is a hard feature to market because the potential buyer has to use it to see what it offers.

If your wanting something with good graphics than get a psp. You can't even compare psp graphics with nintendo handhelds.

Seriously? I thought Dreamcast was a bit stronger than that, but oh well. PSP still isn't as strong as PS2, so it is hard for Sony to hang's its hat on that alone. The texture resolution is also much lower than PS2.
I have both a DS and a PSP (the first model that could plug into a progressive scan TV). The DS gets used on a pretty regular basis while the PSP is sitting in my closet collecting dust. I don't even think I have turned it on in a year. IMHO, the DS is just more fun. The graphics of the PSP aren't going to wow anyone. I mean, it is nice for a handheld, but that is a novelty that wears off in a few days, and then I just found myself thinking "this isn't even up to PS2 quality". The DS may have a lot lesser graphics, but the touch screen adds so much to it to break out of the hum-drum of boring last-gen quality ports that handhelds are known for (PSP included).
