sitting on the train on the way home from work, and i picked up one of the freebie newspapers (metro)

and every now n then they have a little article about science and discovery (which tend to be an interesting read)

anyway, todays topic is how there may still be traces of neandethal man DNA in us. and it opens the article with a corker....

and i quote...

'You know how it is, you go travelling with your mates, arrive in an exotic new land and the first thing you do is go out for a few drinks. The locals are welcoming enough but, let's face it, most of the totty is as rough as biscuits. Then the next thing you know, you are waking up to a moustached hobnob of a woman, regretting necking that last jub of what-ever-it-was-called.

then it goes onto the more sciency part... but reading that first paragraph cracked me up so much i burst out laughin on the train.

That is a nice way to open an article. THat just made bust out laughing inthe middle of work and i work in a callcenter... LOL

I actually watch a lot of BBC America, and I still didn't understand all of it lol. I swear Britain has about 5x more slang than the US does

lol yes they have alot of slang. Which is cool ive also watched movies with british slang so i know a good amount
