I guess the Wikipedia one is because they didn't think the article provided any informative value. This was originally a private birthday party some Australian girl created, and invited her friends. Though the event had public settings and allowed anyone to invite friends, with the result of some 50 000 attending guests, and some 150 000 still awaiting replies ^_^
But yeah, both my links are dead now it seems.
Guess Facebook, or the creator finally just deleted the event too. But of you Google "Kate's birthday party" you're bound to find some spin off humor and articles on this.

I saw the wikipedia page, and it was flagged for removal because the usage of Kate's picture and her name was against one of their policies. I guess the issue was that she is not considered a public figure, and someone else added it. Like how I could not just create a "Bob Davidson" page on Wikipedia about some guy I work with, add his pic, etc., without him knowing about it. I guess it is a privacy issue.
