Yeah I guess I can only be a fanboi for so long
Torque is very deceiving on their web deployment. All it is, is basically a client you have to download and install then it runs through your web browser. It is not a streaming media game where you play it on the internet. No it is a useless 100 meg+ client that installs on your local machine and runs from it. So weak!
I am still happy with T3D as a engine, just kills many of my plans and Garage Games should be ashamed. I most likely wont be using it.
i am not telling you to not buy it, only warning you not to get fooled like I was.

Is the Web deployment your only beef so far?
Never liked the idea of browser games any ways.. dunno why.

I knew about this way back when InstantAction first launched. Kinda pathetic, but I guess I shouldn't be too surprised considering GG's past.

Wow, what on earth is the point of that lol? The point of browser-based gaming is to serve players who have little to no administrative and/or file system rights on the computer they play on, and limiting or eliminating downloads. That does sound kind of misleading, since they seem to be implying that it is a true browser-based platform on their website.
However, if someone is not aiming at browser-based streaming technology, T3D still looks like a great engine. If someone paid $1000 just for what they thought was a streaming browser-based engine, I feel for them

I don't get it..Unity can have beautiful, streaming browser-based games (given you have to install a SMALL plugin, but it's the same concept as flash games), but one of the big dogs of the indie-industry can't even manage it right.
*sigh*..I'll stick with Unity, myself. At least for now.

well Unity does use a flash based system. Torque's Instant action is actually a better system BUT they charge separately for it. GG did say they will be fixing this but god knows when that will be. I am still a big fan of T3D, love the editor, graphics and GUI system.

I still have problems with the way Unity does browser-based 3D as well, but there is really no way around that. Having no plugin would be excellent, but we won't have that until WebGL catches on. It is hard for me to group Unity and Flash into the same boat. It is almost like Flash doesn't need a plugin at all considering that it is already installed on almost every semi-modern browser in the world. Even if it wasn't, it isn't a hard negotiation to get your local IT guy to install the Flash plugin on your work or school PC. However, the Unity plugin is on almost no computers, and there is no way you are getting a non-allied IT person to install it for you at work or school, where they inevitably don't have it installed.
