finially got a new gfx card (not ub0r spectacular, jus summert cheap n will let me have win7 and play newer games :p) n e ways....

spent last night and hlf of today tryin to install win7, 5 times i tried b4 it ballsed my comp up entirly

so here i am back with win xp awaiting a copy of vista to try again with tht and upgrade rather than a complete reinstall.

so wish me luck lol

While I am assuming you had not put the gfx card in yet, I usually try to avoid doing any more than one upgrade at a time. Particularly OS + hardware. Anyway, I hope it works out for you And yeah, computers can be mean mistresses sometimes, but I still love them lol

I can't get vista or win 7 installed on my computer either and it's only 2 years old, so shouldn't be that big problem. I first thought my HD was about to fail and replaced it, but still no better. Next up is trying to replace the memory. If that doesn't work either I'll have to put together a new computer.

Heh, my computer installed Win7 in 1 try in about 20 minutes.

But, that's not to say I havn't had PLENTY of other problems before with other PC's and stuff. They can be complete pains at times, for sure.

Hehe ye from inserting win7 DVD to being usable took 10 min for me, damn fast

Meh left my comp trying to install vista for around 10 hrs last night while i went and got ratted with some mates who come to visit me.

dont know what happened... but it didnt like it... -.-

so back to XP vienna. ill wait till i am rich enough to buy a proper copy before i tart around with it any more lol. been a bitch not bein able to work on my game for the last few days.

Just go straight for Windows 7. If it doesn't like Vista, it will like 7.
