Does anyone know what their crons limit is? I know some hosts are quite conservative with it, only allowing them a few a day, etc.

It is, but not on the free side. You will have to pay for the services to do it. But...because 000webhost is a subsidary of http://www.hosting24.com/ you will have to double check with them and find out. I use 000webhost for hosting my website temporarily, and what I have done using Unity, but as a browser setup. Once it gets closer I will be moving over to godaddy's site!

What limits are you referring too?

Just what their general policy is. Most free web hosts have limits to how often you can run a cron. I have seen a few that only allow you to use them a couple of times a day, but I have also seen other free hosts that let you use them up to 2 times per minute. And of course others that don't allow them at all. I was just wondering where 000host stands.

Copied directly from my cpan -

Cron jobs allow you to automate certain commands or scripts on your site. You can set a script to run at a specific time every day, week, etc. For example, you could set a cron job to delete temporary files every week so that your disk space is not being used up by those files.

Some valid examples of cron times:
0 0 * * * - will run script every midnight 0:00 AM
0 * * * * - will run script every hour
*/15 * * * * - will run script every 15 minutes
5 8 * * * - will run script every day 5 minutes past 8 AM
5 8 15 * * - will run script every month day 15, 5 minutes past 8 AM
5 8 * * 1 - will run script Monday only, 5 minutes past 8 AM

Did you know that premium users can run cron jobs every minute, execute any PHP or Perl command, have script output emailed or logged on server.

I sent them a ticket to find out more, as soon as I know, I will post again...
