you mean this ":" if so depending on the keyboard you have it will be placed differently. as for the positioning it is done with absolute positioning with CSS, I would suggest reading over absolute attribute on the http://www.w3schools.com website

On the qwerty keyboards it is the [shift] + [;] both pressed at the same time.
