Maybe they will turn it around, though. However, for a F2P WoW-clone, I would check out Runes of Magic. I know a few people who have played it, and it about as close to WoW-clone as you will get F2P.
I know what you mean with Gala-Net..I played Rappelz for a while. It's a really cool game, but it just sucks because of all the grinding you have to do. It got way to repetitive.

I thought about joining Runes of Magic, but it has a boring name lol.
That is basically what I meant about them. Every MMO has a grind, whether it is quest grinding, empire-build grinding, mob grinding, etc., but it just depends on how interesting they can keep it. All of the Gala-Net games I have played so far have not done well in keeping it fresh. Maybe they have learned their lesson and will make the new one better.

And I definitely suggest checking out RoM. It is by far the F2P game with the most depth, and it is the most like a P2P game. Don't worry about the name. The name is a bit boring because it is translated from another language, and they didn't really spruce it up (they just took it literally).
I guess I'll have to look at it.

On ps3 Modern Warfare 2 and I've been looking at MAG, haven't decided on it yet.
On PC beta testing Mortal Online (has a long way to go) and that epic flop that was Star Trek Online.

Ah, a first hand report - how bad is it?

I've been holding off checking it out until I heard some honest reviews of it.

I was actually wondering the same thing. Not that I was considering playing it, but I am interested to know since so many were looking forward to it, and it was up in the air for so long.

It's not looking good for ST Online - at least from this review:
The space MMO itself has warped in unprepared, jury-rigged, piecemeal and scatterbrained. It's a jumble of broken-up content, inconsistent rules and half-finished systems that does a great job of throwing players together but a terrible job of keeping them together, a game where you never really know what's going to be on the end of your next warp (although it will probably involve blowing stuff up). I'm not quite sure that's what Gene Roddenberry would have meant by the wonder and mystery of space exploration.

Wow, there are already STO reviews? That in itself seems a bit harsh. Most reviewers wait at least a month or two after gold to write-up their review, or you either end up with reviews based on the first 10th of the game (which may not be representative of the whole product), or reviews written based on beta testing (which is really not going to be representative of the final game). It just seems a bit fast to be condemning it.

Having said that, it may be very possible that it is a steaming pile. There is likely a reason why this game got shuffled around as many times (if not more) than Matrix Online did. And we know how much everyone loved Matrix Online.

It's pretty bad. I played closed beta, open beta, and then all the way through the head start. I didn't buy it I just milked the free time and let me say....I wish I had those hours back. The graphics are good both on characters, world, and space. The sound is phenomenal and feels like Star Trek buy that is all of the praise I will give it.

The game has that 'Ooooo Shiny' appeal but once you get past the first 10 levels the game totally falls apart. Within 4 days of launch 1000's of people hit the level cap before the end of head start and due to no endgame content quit and didn't buy it. Playing on the Klingon side is just a mindless pvp grind....you don't even have to win which irritates me. You get credit for just being there while the Federation pounds you into dirt with their pve Blue and Green items.

In true Cryptic fashion they put up two premium playable races on launch day for the federation, Klingon and Ferengi. Combined these teo races cost $5 from the cryptic store but what poo practice is it to have a game that not only you have to buy a copy of for $50 and pay a month sub to but now you if you want to play a Ferengi you have to buy it separate on day 1.

Now granted it's still early and the game isn't finished (even though it launched last tuesday) yet but Cryptic is a piss poor company and has a horrible track record with game since leaving NCsoft. It's a themepark game and doesn't warrant a monthly fee. I'd play it if it were free to play with a cash shop like DDO is but I can't bring myself to throw money at this company even though I live Star Trek. Estimated play time to max level is 30 hours despite the company saying 100 hours.

Wow, even 100 hours to level cap is extremely short if they are counting your "average player". 30 hours is getting closer to Guild Wars length. Your average player takes about 250 - 400 hours to get to level cap in most MMOs (not counting power players who know exactly where to go, what to do, and the most effective way of doing it).

And I hear you about the premium shop. You can't have it every way: retail box sale, monthly subscription and item shop. So many games only have one of those, and they appear highly profitable. This is the dark prophecy of DLC coming true: Paying for things you should have had for free.

I probably put in 400-450 hours to cap lvl 50 in City of Heroes, the old fashion way of levelling that is, pure grinding. The fastest Max level character I have ever had was in Guild Wars and I got him to lvl 20 in about 2 hours.
