Has anyone else given it a try?
I tried some time ago before they pretty much stopped developing the engine for their flash engine. I'm a total noob to Java and Python but I was actually able to modify their basic world into a demo of my own. In my endeavor I built a whole new UI from scratch, added a physics engine, and had rudimentary collision.
It's just the lack of support and community makes it hard to get answers. Oh and the fact that it's damn near impossible to get it to import models, textures, skeletons, and animations from anything other than Maya or 3Ds Max.

Re: Multiverse
i used it quite some time ago, prob 3 years ago, terrible art pipeline, scripting is a pain, and the way you have to use their server for player log in is garbage.

I found the exact same things out
They want to make sure they get their cut of any profits made.

Re: Multiverse
Years ago, I tried the 3D world demo thing that Multiverse put out where you could walk a generic character through a park, and it ran at less than 1 FPS, even though that same PC was running current games over 30 FPS. I just closed it, uninstalled and never considered Multiverse again, considering that they said the demo was "where we want it to be" at that time.

Re: Multiverse
I tried it not too long ago. Ran at about 5-10 FPS average, while Crysis on near-max settings ran at a steady 27-28 FPS. Never touched it again.
Re: Multiverse
I tried it last year around this time. In the sample world i would rend about 50-60fps. Age of Conan and Warhammer only would both do about 90fps on max.

I thought they had completely scrapped the original client? Haven't they changed to just working on some kind of Flash product?

Re: Multiverse
The flash stuff is being developed totally separate from the actual client. This is the best of what is being made with the engine. It's in open beta if you want to take a look.
