HTML5 Game Dev

Post by vitinho444 »

Hello guys, im interested in taking some tutorials about HTML5 Game Dev.
I've watched a youtube series that had a basic "invaders" type game tutorial, it was cool to learn the basics, now i was thinking moving into an engine maybe, so it is easier to do something.
My main goal is to make a top down shooter, maybe online if possible.

There are definitely some good engines, like Impact, CraftyJS, Canvas Engine perhaps (looks good but I have not used it), MelonJS, PlayCraft and others. They are really coming in like crazy these days, which is good and bad. It is nice that we have plenty of choices, since it was pretty much Impact or Impact the first time I looked into it. But engines are coming out so fast these days that many suffer from a lack of tutorials.

Just apply for the competition with your email address and you will be sent an impactjs license. They are not going to force you to participate. The only condition is that this is a non-commerical license, so you cant make money off any game you make

I used my personal email address, not a .edu one, they are pretty cool with that. And yea If you can buy the license later you can make commercial games.
