So i wanted to see if i could get a game to a playable and fun state within an hour and a half of coding, here is the product of me finishing 15 minutes early xD

Use WASD or Arrow Keys to move and dodge the squares from all sides, its a lot better when you play in fullscreen so i'd suggest entering your screen resolution when it asks and then selecting fullscreen.
I also suggest not playing in a resolution below 800x600 as the game becomes unplayable
EDIT: I'm going to continue working on it and fix some of the obvious bugs you will see in this version
Speed coding project
Re: Speed coding project
Hour and a half's a quick time!
One thing you could try is time how quickly you can pop a different them onto the same game - ie, a pirate theme, or a space theme, or tomb raiding theme. See if you can switch one in in an hour and a half.
What's it written in? Could write something in unity, then it'd be insta play for the rest of us

Well, i think a hour and a half is not that much, but you can do a simple one. Did you used a engine or you wrote the game from the scratch?

Well that is pretty cool for 1.5 hrs. I'm curious, what spurred you to create this style of gameplay? Have a game idea that this would relate to?
I'm going to guess that you used Python for this as well?

Re: Speed coding project
I used Python and the Pygame module
And i don't really know what inspired it lol, i just started coding and ended up with that, i'm almost done with a revamped version that will be a lot better, with a menu system, hardware acceleration, in depth options, and a high score table. I will probably release it to you guys tommorow or Friday.
EDIT: Oh yeah i wrote it from scratch

LOOL Highscore? Niceee i can be the best at this game for sure (i found a glitch xDDD)
The glitch is: go to the up left corner and go off the limits of the screen
The enemies cant hit u, and u stay there winning score
