Skillaria is back

Have a project in the works but not much media? How about an idea you are turning into a project? Maybe a game design document you want to start with. This is the place.

Skillaria is back

Post by stefans »

Hello all,
I started again working on skillaria,
i created a new layout :)

Skillaria is a text based browser mmorpg where you can train skills, fight monsters, chat with other players etc..

currently only the login, register and the chat are done, i started working on it yesterday so..

Skillaria will have the following skills:
Building
Building houses and shops will be a skill in Skillaria.
A house will contain slots, where you can store items.
A low level will be few slots, a high level will be more slots.
A shop will also contains slots, where you can sell items to other players,
you just add your items to the shop, enter a price and you can go do whatever you want,
players in the town where your house is build can open it and buy your stuff.

Cooking
You can cook all sorts of fish that you will obtain by fishing.
For this skill you will have to cut wood, and make a fire!
Food can be used to heal while fighting.

Crafting
You will be able to craft items made by leather, leather can be obtained by killing monsters.
Any monster will be able to drop leather.
You will also need a needle and thread.
The items craftable will be gloves and shoes.

Enchanting
Enchanting is the use of magic.
I don't really have any good idea's for this yet,
maybe someone here has an idea?

Farming
You will be able to farm different sorts of vegetables and fruits.
Seeds can be obtained by woodcutting and farming.

Fighting
You will be able to fight monsters of different levels,
i don't think i have to explain allot about this?

Firemaking
Firemaking is a skill where you light wood to fire.
On a low firemaking level you have a chance of losing logs
because you're not experienced with making fire.
You can only use firemaking while cooking.

Fishing
you will be able to fish different kinds of fish, to cook them later.
Also you'll be able to find items while fishing.

Mining
You will be able to mine different kinds of ores, depends on your level ofcourse.
However you have a chance that your pickaxe breaks.

Smithing
You will be able to smelt ores and turn the bars into items.
You will be able to create armor, weapons, tools etc..

Trading
Trading will also be a skill. First, when you have a low level, you will have a low trading limit,
when your level gets higher, you will be able to trade more, you can get trading experience by
selling items in your shop and study at the academy.

Travelling
Travelling will be a skill too. So when you travel from town to town, it will take longer on a low level then on a high level.
On some level you would be able to use a horse.

Woodcutting
Woodcutting is a skill where you can cut wood, obtain seeds etc..
I don't think this needs any more information

TOWNS:
- New Liur (Trading & Home Town)
- Woodlands (Woodcutting)
- Mysticania (Enchanting)
- Marfania (Farming)
- Stonefield (Mining)
- Lealand (Cooking & Firemaking)
- Illyara (Smithing)
- Yalfields (Fighting)
- Layevania (crafting)
- Port Malpshire (Fishing)

World map:

(i know it's kinda ugly XD i did my best for this)

Any more questions?
Ask :D

And does someone has an idea for the enchanting skill?

sounds kewl!

If the fishing was very awesome and or the two cities opposite of the lake of each other had goods they traded there they technically could have a port. As rare as that might be :)
