However the more I read it, the more awesome the idea of a Hunger games video game sounds
Summary of the world Hunger Games is set in: It is set in a post apocalyptic world in the nation of Panem. Panem is built in a ring, the center being the city called Capitol, and it is surrounded by 13 districts. It is an extremely corrupt society and a war broke out between the 13 districts and Capitol. The Capitol won the war by a lot, and completely destroyed District 13. Each district has its own resource that they contribute, for example district 12's resource is coal, district 11 is agriculture, and so on and so forth. Now every year each district must send 2 "tributes"; One boy and one girl between the ages of 12 - 18 to compete in the Hunger Games to remind the districts of the Capitols superiority. Essentially they are in a large natural arena that could be anything from a barren desert to a bright green forest and must fight to the death. Alliances are formed and broken as there can only be one survivor. Tributes starve to death, get assassinated, get burned alive, and much more.
Now after almost completing the book, i realized what an awesome video game could be made using the world from Hunger Games. You could pick what district your character is from and that would yield certain skills and attributes. You could select your gender, build, and age for further customization and play through the hunger games. I think it would be awesome as there could be many ways to play seeing how the arena could be anything, and there are 12 districts to choose from.
I imagine the gameplay itself being similar to a Roguelike RPG. There is no definite storyline and you just create a character, select a difficulty and arena type, and try to win. There would be tons of replay value. If each hunger games lasted maybe 2 weeks in game time and 3-5 hours in actual time you could put well over 60 hours in and still find new things to do.
One day I plan on making this game if no one else does it first
