Jacksonville, FL
Anyone live(d) there? Have a job opportunity(major money) and may be moving there. Won't know till next week but just curious if any one knows the lifestyle out there.

Re: Jacksonville, FL
My aunt used to live there, and I went and visited her a couple of times over 10 years ago. The lifestyle is....old! Florida is a well-known retirement state, and Jacksonville is an epicenter of it! Hurricanes hit pretty often, although I don't think it is quite as bad as further down the pan-handle. Not too bad of a place, but it is very hot, and very old.

Well I live in Mobile, al now, so I know hot and i know hurricanes
Mobile is quite boring so the old might not be a culture shock.
The salary is 3x my current so will be worth it

My trips down there sometimes border living there..it depends in which part you will end up in. And as the largest city in the states there are LOTS of different areas.
It is hot down there..I never really had a problem with the heat too much, it was more so all the humidity. Night breeze if you are near the coast is amazing though after a day of that stuff. I love to visit the place, but I don't think I would live there. Granted with a good job offering I would reconsider it, after all, an AC easily fixes most of the problem there lol.
If the job is good don't let the city hold you back from taking it - good luck with it and hope it works out fine for you, you deserve it.

This looks like it may turn out. The money in this deal is amazing.
I am looking to host something for the community. Maybe a server that we can run our games for free from. Or a good VPS. Will update later but something to think about.
Also this job will be taking up a TON more of my time so I am going to only 1 project.
Must make the decision of which one.

Being on 1 project at a time is really probably for the best anyway. By having more at once, you are just diluting your time and efforts, and likely will not finish any of them.
Glad it sounds like you are moving-up though!
