D&D Over Skype
D&D Over Skype
Well, I have been wanting to play D&D for some time and none of the people I know play it and there are no clubs around where I live, so I sought a group on Skype to play with, and I have to say it was a blast! I was wondering if any of you ever tried it and if you play D&D it isn't any different than the regular face to face play besides the fact that you have an a map on your computer.

I played a pen'n'paper RPG years ago on AOL over a chat room. It was missing a few of the qualities of meeting in person, but it was awesome that you could chat room hop around and basically play a game anytime you wanted

The indelible lord of tl;dr

Yeah there are some neat communities out there I was a part of one where there were roles as some very experienced D&D and community veterans are DMs and you could rank your way up to DM as you stayed with the community. It was pretty cool!

Sounds great, I have been playing D&D for 20+ years now. Have never tried via the internet however. May have to give it a shot.

Re: D&D Over Skype
So I asked around my old gaming buddies and seem they are already doing this.
They use
https://www.fantasygrounds.com/home/
It is quite awesome. I am starting a game tomorrow with this. Glad to be gaming again!
There are also some free virtual tabletops out there but since they already use this figured might as well. Also comes with d20 books pre-loaded.
