Not So Massive MMO

Have a project in the works but not much media? How about an idea you are turning into a project? Maybe a game design document you want to start with. This is the place.

Not So Massive MMO

Post by hallsofvallhalla »

After quite a bit of planning, thinking, planning, thinking, then design and then some more planning I believe I have found the MMO I am wanting to build and a MMO I would love to play. I am keeping many details hidden until I can produce them but the game will be heavily focused on building and materials. Much of the players involvement will revolve around building the world more than destroying it by killing creatures all day.

The goal of the game will aim towards harvesting, mining, lumbering, ect, and crafting and building based on those materials. I am not looking for a thousand player game. This will in fact be more tuned towards a smaller community. Few hundred players at max but will be completely playable solo. The players will still see players around them and visit their shops and houses but will be able to continue as far as they want without the need to party or raid some over powerful boss.

This game will lead to the re-opening of Forsaken Sanctum but currently I am still working with engines to find the best choice and force myself to stick with it. Currently I am toying with BigWorld and the TMMOKIT and even RC. This time around the environment will be more attuned to what FS should be. An Alien Planet. More details coming soon.

I would most definitely be interested in playing an MMO where focus would be on building.
Good luck with this project!
