I hate to add a new project here but I need to complete this game for personal reasons. As posted before I use to play a browser game years ago (06') and it is what got me into web game development. Though it took a few years after that before I got into it.

Anyways that game is long gone and buried. It was a simple game with very simple graphics but was very addictive and fun. I am looking to build my own version with more playability, some better graphics, and most of all free to play.

Here is the first screen. I got the map system with creatures and all built in about a day. As you can see I am using Cavern Crawl as a base and there are some images I will need to replace as they are "borrowed" hehehe.

It was quite the coding adventure to have it pull all those creatures in the surround maps and store them in an several arrays that broke down to the player only being able to attack those surrounding him, then also add the data to a mouse over title. Was a great learning experience.
The current screen consists of 9 squares like Forsaken Sanctum but each square can hold up to 5 creatures along with players and locations. The players basically run around the map killing creatures, exploring locations, and basically becoming the most powerful.
The highest level player at the end of the game(usually a 5 day game) wins the game. The players that make it to a certain level can move those characters to another game and play the "next level" The players who did not or just start can start a new game. There will be several games going on at once.

I will post more screens soon and we can hopefully have a alpha test this weekend! maybe....

Looks very nice!

I was wondering something, though. I know we only saw the front pages on the Wayback Machine, but have you augmented the game with a graphical map? Without seeing the game, just from the website it looked like the original may have been mostly a text-based game.

the original had a graphical map but it was more text based than graphical. Very ugly but it worked. I wanted to add a more graphical map with images representing the creatures instead of letters.
