Interesting article and video set about how gaming culture affect the world. What’s the future of interactive storytelling? Can indie developers really thrive in an industry dominated by powerhouse publishers?

How do you mean thrive? If you try and measure an indie guy by the same means you judge a corporate entity...the way corporations behave isn't necessarily something with is a good thing to begin with, let alone to rank an indie guy in comparison with.
In terms of interactive story, the usual wash right now is that you primp your characters hair, shoot some nameless goons and then the game designers drop a cut scene on you, where sure, they tell you a story. This is nothing like actually being part of making a new story, it's just being told an old story the designers already made. But symantically, that's still storytelling, I'll grant.
