Got my new tablet

Post by D3luxe »

My Intuos 3 6x11 came in today..Holy hell is it amazing. I love it so much more than the Bamboo I had. I didnt think I'd be able to notice the sensitivity levels, but I definitely can. The extra programmable buttons are awesome. I even like the pen more, cause it has a more comfortable grip and just easier to hold.

With such a big tablet, I can sit back in my chair with it on my lap and draw a lot easier than with the small bamboo. Plus, the bamboo was too small to use on my lap so it felt awkward, and was kinda weird to use it on the desktop.

The drivers have a customizable option that lets you customize all of the buttons based on the application, so I can easily swap between illustrator/photoshop/3ds max/internet browsing.

Anyone that is semi-serious about graphics/getting a tablet, I HIGHLY recommend an Intuos tablet.

Cool!

I got a Genius 6x8 tablet a couple years ago, but I'm not happy with it. Is yours wireless? With the way my computer is set up, I either need a USB extender or something to be able to sit back comfortably and draw.

And of course, I need to learn how to draw :P

Cintiq has the screen that you can draw directly on - those things are awesome... and expensive :)

The Cintiq is the one with the screen built in. My school has one that I use all the time, its fcking amazing..It's the 21", which is around $2000 lol. I got the 6x11 Intuos for 200, brand new, with all software/mouse/pen included.

Mines not wireless, but the cord is pretty darn long and my computer is placed right next to me anyway so the cord length is no problem. I do have a USB extender though if I happen to need one, which would add another 4". I've heard pretty good things about the Genius tablet, but I've also heard that the Intuos is the way to go if you're serious about tablets. And yeah, I kinda need to work on that drawing part, too :P
