Have a project in the works but not much media? How about an idea you are turning into a project? Maybe a game design document you want to start with. This is the place.

Undiscovered Online - Mtangulizi's Journal

2012: A self-proclaimed scientist by the name of Mtangulizi (mmTAHN-guh-lee-zee) age: 25, out of Kenya, East Africa discovered a new way to travel. He discovered a way to build a phase gate, which would allow you to phase out from our world and phase back at different worlds. Testing the basic setup on Earth first, he was able to teleport himself and his car to the United States, where he built another phase gate and connected the two, creating a lane. He entered again, and found himself back in Kenya.

Mtangulizi demonstrated this too his country and to the U.N. and ALL of the world powers agreed to fund Mtangulizi dream to travel to distant worlds. At first the World powers were considering just sending teams to build connecting gates and just send the ones in prisons off, but as over crowded the Earth had become, each country decided to send 100,000 of their people in different directions, to forge new colonies.

2013: Mtangulizi and a team of 50 constructed the first gate that would leave to another world. One year later they were given the go ahead to enter the gate, and begin construction on the other side. With about 5 seconds of travel, they found themselves in an unknown area. By 2014 they connected the first phase gates.

2017: After the successful completion of the first connecting phase gates, they were given the go ahead to start constructing more. Everytime they constructed one, and sent it somewhere, the new gates built had beacons placed in them to determine their location. Finally reaching a stopping point, after connecting to 15 different planetary locations.

2020: The first set of colonists were sent through, then 2021 another set. This continued every year until all 15 planets had been colonized.

2046: Several phase gates had been built to several planets. There were 15 just in this galaxy. Talk was on the way about seeing if Mtangulizi could design the phase gate to connect to different galaxies. They would fund him whatever he needed to complete his work. This work is still being done today.

2092: The last of the colonies were sent though, so were all of the prisoners on Earth. This included the murderers, rapists, etc and were directed to the furthest away from any world.

2147: Communications were lost. The communications device was also built in with the phase gates. Every colony lost communications with Earth and with each other. Something went wrong with Mtangulizi's design. It was never meant to go that far out from home communications.

2285: People where beginning to forget about Earth and the other colonies, planet wide things were changing the entire look of the Human specie itself...the Humans were being molded into something else, but what for?

3062: No one remembers Earth, the phase gates were forgotten about or buried and never spoke of again. With all these changes, now the colonists don't even look Human.

3063: Loc'Nar, a Thetia was playing somewhere his father had told him not too, and found the once used phase gate. He approached it, and when he touched it, he found himself on another world, staring at a Hydrathian. Loc'Nar's father went looking for him and saw the gate, while the Hydrathian and Loc'Nar returned back to Loc'Nar's homeworld. Loc'Nar's father thought this weird specie kidnapped his son, and murdered the Hydrathian on the spot. Of course the Hydrathian was a princess, and this sparked a war.

3064: The Thetia and Hydrathians had been at war for over a year now...thinking that they were the only two races, a third appeared; a Human female scientist and a small group were sent through to see how the colonists were thriving. When the Hydrathians and Thetia saw this, they began looking for ways to find others.

3065: 5 different species have been discovered and all are at war.

This is Undiscovered Online...do you have what it takes to survive the wars between species?

If you were a presentor at a meeting, then I would be a large crowd cheering!

I really like how that story went together, it fit well and had lots of logic to it.

At first I though the idea that people forgot Earth was kinda dumb, but then thinking. In 3000 years, thats like 300 generations of people. So its not totally crazy, and after a point, people are probably thinking who cares about earth, it doesn't matter to us now, so they didn't need so keep record or history of it.

I'm actually hooked, congratulations

In this example, cause my webhost is being a pain. Is another test run of the learning of Unity.

I have included a .zip file so you can download and run on your own computer. Its embedded into the web page. You just need the Unity Player, if you dont have it, it will provide you a link to directly download it!! :)

Controls:

LMB (Left mouse button) holding down will orbit the camera in the scene. Flight controls have been removed for this test purpose, as I am re-writing the flight system and adding a particle system to it as well.

Anyway, enjoy and let me know what you think!!

NOTE: The tips at the bottom are test runs as well, you can read them, but they mean nothing right now!
