Unreal Engine 3

Post by Falken »

Just thought that I would share with you that Epic has released the Unreal Engine 3 for free for non-commercial use in the form of Unreal Development Kit. You can find it here: http://udk.com/index.html

Nice...I read about it yesterday, but couldn't find a link to where to get it, so I never posted it...

Could be interesting for people who want to play together in their home! :)

It uses unreal script and ONLY unrealscript. You can't even make a call out to c++ if you wanted to.

ok so i have been playing with the editor and some other things and I am sold. My god what a engine. Not only that it will be cheap! From what I can tell they are basing the price off of your sales!

My new job is kicking my free time's ass now. The unreal 3 engine is certainly a beast. It can do everything from platform games to mmo's. It's got some sexy features. I used to play around with the unreal 2 editor back in the day while making maps for Unreal.

ah yes these are good. I would like to find some real good Art tutorials for it. Like I can't find exactly what formats it supports and anything on the animations.
