Well, 3 days in a row, some big engine goes free-to-use... This time it's Source 2, but not sure when it will actually be available.

I don't really like Source... I don't know if it's because it was proprietary, but all the games look the same... but hey! This week is crazy for game dev :D

But do you mean all the games look the same as in rendering engine? Or just because of the models? I would figure you could make a game that looked nothing like other Source engine games. For example, I would assume a block puzzle game would not look similar to the FPS games made with Source.

But yes, this has been a crazy week for engines. It appears suddenly engine owners are worried about getting left behind in the indie sphere, which is quite a refreshing change of pace for the game industry. Indies would not only be forgotten, but wouldn't be remembered in the first place only 5 - 10 years ago when engines were in one of two camps: cheap, low-powered engines for indies, or completely unobtainable, AAA engines. They were worlds apart.

Well the 3D models were very similar ofc, but it just looked the same... I think it's because of the style and not so much for the engine itself, CSS, L4D, CS: Go, Team fortress it just feels the same in my opinion.
