i think a very good language to start with. If the 3d is too hard you can start with the 2d then work your way up. Its quite easy to learn.

I know the relation blitz 3d - community project is apparent, but Multi-Purpose Engines section seems better suiting.

Moved.
Just FYI, the post is above, so stop looking down here and do something useful.

As others have said, it is actually quite easy since it is made for beginner game programmers. You do not have to worry about a ton of things that you have to worry about when doing game programming in C, C++, C#, Java, etc. I have linked a couple of books for Blitz 3D, because it is not apparent that they are actually about Blitz (I have just come across them over time and noticed they were about Blitz):

Game Programming for Teens

3D Game Programming for Teens

I am not exactly sure how these two books work with each other, but I believe they both cover about the same material. They can both be bought used for just a couple of bucks off of Amazon. Do note that the Third Edition of Game Programming for Teens covers "BlitzMax", which is an entirely different, cross-platform version of BlitzBASIC. And don't be thrown off by the "for Teens" part of the titles. I have read through a couple of chapters of the first book linked, and it was not short of good info and tutorials.

They sell much cheaper used on Amazon. They are new for $29.99, but one is about $2, and the other $5 used, I think.

I dont mean to bump a few month old topic, but i figured i would touch on the books.

The book "Game Programming for Teens & Game Programming for Teens Second Edition. Author: Maneesh Sethi
"Do not get both books. They are exactly the same with little change." I would get the second edition....

3D Game Programming for Teens is by a different author and covers the "3D" usage of Blitz.

A must have book is the Blitz3D Programming Manual. This book covers the almost all the commands for Blitz3D.

With the exception of the manual, these books can be found at used book stores cheaper then amazon. Altho amazon is cheap for used books that are basically new.

Sorry for the bump.
