Neo-Axis adds networking

We at NeoAxis Group Ltd. are pleased to announce a brand new release of the NeoAxis Engine. After many years of development we have crossed the line in regards to user experience and giving power to developers to create new and exciting game titles using the power of a unique approach looking ahead to a new level of visual game creation tools.

Major updates in NeoAxis Engine 0.8 include:

* Networking support based on UDP protocol.
* Seamless integration of networking support into the Entity System and game classes.
* Practically all game specific classes are adapted for networking support.
* Networking lobby features.
* Dedicated server.
* Networking deatchmatch game example.
* Jigsaw puzzle game example with networking support.
* Map Editor: Work with layers improved.
* Map Editor: Form for searching objects.
* Optimizations for shader model 3.0. Amount of DIPs is lower if scene have directional light.

Also have changed the conditions of licensing:

* Licences now have free updates for one (or two) years and not limited to engine version.

We are proud to announce new featured projects based on our engine.
You can see new released game "Capoeira Legends: Path To Freedom" from Donsoft Entertainment.
This is a Brazil adventure/fighting game.

Some VERY cool news. Neo Axis is actually my favorite indie engine but the licensing scheme is is a major turnoff :? one title per license is really bad (for me at least :) )

Most of the big engines function the same way as how NA does. Just think of it as your first step to expensive engine licensing :p

hehe yes, licensing schemes on big engines suck.... especially the six figure part :D

PSh wanna know what sucks more? the 6 figures PLUS the % of royalty's you gotta pay. I hate how big engines like unreal charge close to a million for there engine then turn around and want MORE money for royalty's. Have you guys seen some indie engines? Some of them are really awesome and they sure didn't cost no 1.2 million.

Well those engines are usually all kept to the company's. As in they don't give them out. Most of them however just use either Ogre3d or Irrlicht.

i remember seeing a few good game engines. they arnt "1 mill" but they were closer to a thousand....
