I'd buy it! only problem is 3ds max is out of my price range. hehe you could also pretty much make a kit (like mmokit but better lol). would be awesome 8-)

most 3d programs will export to .3ds. You dont need to actually buy 3ds max.

Abyssal doesn't have .3ds support. .3ds is slowly being phased out by .FBX since fbx can hold both object data and animations. However abyssal has custom internal file format that they only made a 3ds max plugin for.

Well I suppose I can shed some information I have learned about Abyssal engine. If my sources are correct then you guys know that Chaos engine thing that guy was trying to scam people with? Pay $5,000 get this "nex-gen" engine. Well apparently he worked for the people that owned/made abyssal. I don't know the specifics. Anyhow if you have ever looked at his screens its very similar to the Abyssal screenshots. So I believe that Abyssal and Chaos engine == same thing. But Abyssal is an unlucky company with a fairly decent engine. The engine is legit and legal. I tried it out its pretty fast and powerful. Its cheap sure but the art pipeline and how you use it isn't meant for an inexperienced indie team. Meant for a team with decent C++ programmers and artists with 3ds max.
