UDK crashes...

I was hoping to get back working with unreal ed, like i used to when i was doing UT2004 maps, so i installed the UDK from the website, installed it and now every time the UDK loads it stops working and dies, i haven't been able to fix it and it is really annoying me, any ideas?

Hard crashes are extremely difficult to diagnose, because they are caused by unhandled exceptions. And those could be caused by anything. Your best bet is to search for UDK crashes on the UDK forums and on Google, really.

I did, but mostly what i found were lots of other people complaining with the same problem.

About the only thing you can do is just make sure as little as possible running on your computer when you open UDK. Also check ini files and any other things that come with UDK to see if there are any options you can mess with. It isn't liking something, but it can be hard to find out what it is.

Well the log files offer no insight, meh im too tired to be fixing stuff at nearly 2am, sleep for me!

i had tons of issues with UDK, crashing, silly ways of doing things, not running on certain PCs, ect..

Just keep fiddling. Like most computer users today, I have had my fair share of experiences trying to diagnose hard crashes, and it is often some silly option that you would think has no effect on anything that is causing the crashes.
