Realm crafter. what would you grade it?
I have been thinking about getting realm crafter to try out and wanted some opinions. what would you give it on a scale of one to ten? can you also leave a description of why you liked or disliked it? thanks!

currently i cannot add a description but unannounced yet, I have moved FS a final time to RC. So far everything is going better than expected.

I'd give it an 9. It has lots of features and tools, and all of them work pretty well for what they're meant to do.
Good server backend. I've played Fasaria World and it ran really well. Most test games don't run that well because most test games are run off of people's home computers
It's pretty good graphics wise, depending on what version you are talking about though. Standard is capable or pretty good graphics, Pro, even right now, it capable of some really neat effects.
I've owned a license to RC (both versions) since December 2006, and let me just say, it has improved a LOT over the years. The new camera and movement system are really great, and I've been able to get about 30 actors in one area all on screen at once with only about 5 FPS lost, whereas older versions it was unplayable with that many actors in an entire zone.
Only thing I don't really like about RC Standard is the editor. It's fairly old and unresponsive at times. If only RCS had RCP's editor.
IMO, it's worth $100 (even though I paid $75 for it

I think it is. Right now it's not capable of making a finished game, but I'd buy it just to save money as it will be $300+ upon release.

Realmcrafter. I had it for 3 years, recently just stopped.
The pro version is still a wip, while you can make a game I can't guarentee its stability for now, though its becoming an even more powerful tool. Though I don't believe most Indie developers need/can handle/have the ability to use its potential fully.
Standard is a very good engine. 99.998 % of projects never get completed and thats a big fact. Its a mmorpg engine and is strictly that. If you have an innovative idea I don't advise using it like if its like a FPSmmo or StreetRAcing Mmo or sailing mmo or space flight mmo. Stick to mmoRPG.
With the Engine there is new updates that are always fixing old problems and making new ones.
I don't mean to bring you down. The engine is great quality but the odds of making a mmo are 1 in 10000.
It has an extremly friendly community and helpful.
I learned alot in game development and the community is full and the engine is being slowly built up even though it should be fully stable by now. Though even so it still has The infamous "MAV" which basically means, Error, time to crash.
Don't forget a mmo project will take definatly a year. Alot of teams are hard to keep commited and constant. If you try to solo you need extreme commit ment which is do-able and you need to be able to model at the least, very handy.
Your first project will certainly fail due to your learning the engine.
The choice is yours.

Do not buy Pro yet. It is not where it needs to be to prove it can hold up. The graphics are not that spectacular. Sure they are better than RC, well the water anyways and a few shaders, but who really needs that? Honestly. You are a indie developer, not a commercial developer.
The price of Pro will drop, and maybe by that time it will be usable.

the fact that Solstar is missing the most important fact of their existance. They make their money from people thinking they want to make a game. They don't mind spending $100, well they do but they can handle it. If they go raising it any higher then they start competing with others in that range and even T3d isn't selling like they thought it would. If they raise to $300 they will lose +50% of their customer base.
Please don't decide to buy or not to buy on my comments. I would rather not be at blame for any mistakes in the future. DO what feels right to you but make sure to investigate all options first.
