Welcome to the site :)

Do you already have an idea of what kind of games you want to make? Have you ever made games, programmed or created game art before?

Hello Jack...Thanks for the welcome...

Yes, I am wanting a mafia style game that's mixed in with fighting pvp in an arena. I haven't done a lot of scripting before, but have worked on many project years ago and have forgotten most of what I learned then. I'm familiar with php and mysql based upon hands on and nobody teaching me. So this will be a huge project for me. I have watched some videos from here and am learning much as I do. Any help would be appreciated as I continue this venture :) Thanks again for the welcome.

Sounds good! Definitely check out the full Browser MMORPG Tutorial series Halls has made (sounds like you have started on that), as that is really designed to be the intro to web development. After that one, there are some that begin to teach the basics of Javascript, which is really required for most games and websites these days.

And of course, if you have any trouble, don't hesitate to ask! The Beginner Help and Support is a forum section designed for beginners to ask as many questions as they want, on any topic no matter how basic (actually, I just saw that you have found it, so excellent!) :)
