No, Halls is more honest than Weird Al =P.

There's a couple distinct lies in the song:
He mentions that he "worked in the coal mine 22 hours a day for half a cent." This is physically impossible for the human body, and plus, for that to have been before the laws that prevented such things, he would have to be well over 100 years old. People in their 100s don't sing that well, if at all.

He then says that he "had to sell his internal organs just to pay the rent." Later, he brags about how there were "73 of us living in a cardboard box." You don't pay rent to live in a cardboard box.

He says that his "dad would whoop us every night 'til a quarter after 12:00." How did he have time for the whoopings when he was at the coal mine 22 hours a day?

He claims that people played frisbee with his brain. Brains do not make good frisbees. And obviously, he would be dead by now if they took his brain out. We can't even do a successful brain transplant today.

He mentions that "every night for dinner, we had a big ol' chunk of dirt." He also mentions that he "didn't have nintendo, we just poured salt on snails." How could they afford salt, but not food? Oh, and it's impossible for humans to live on dirt, as far as I know.

Halls would not stretch the truth like that. Besides, he's only 31  . Lucky him - if he had been but 10 years older, he would have been old enough to remember some of the worst people and events in history. Yeah, you know who I'm talking about (or maybe you don't).
