Back on a game!

Have a project in the works but not much media? How about an idea you are turning into a project? Maybe a game design document you want to start with. This is the place.

Back on a game!

Post by hallsofvallhalla »

So after working on a thousand different things as well as a new simple engine I am really missing having a game out there to work on. I decided to take one of my older games that I came close but did not complete. Forsaken Sanctum v3.0. I am not sure of the story or if I will change it to something else but I will be redoing the game to update the code(mysql to mysqli, more ajax, better map, ect) and graphics. Below are some older screen shots and features currently and will update as I go

FEATURES
Large map system
player owned shops and houses
auctions
player created weapons, armor, items
crafting
spells
quests
mining,lumbering, ect..
message and player interactions
event system
guilds

This really reminds me of Advance dungeons and Rabbits for PHPBB,

Very reminiscence of that..

I know this is from a while back, but since you are working on the Simple Engine and you want a game to work on, why not use your own engine as the base for the game? It would help to focus your SE development since you will have in mind what you want it to do for your game. It can be hard to make a general purpose engine without it also being the core of a game being made, hence why the Unreal Engine, CryEngine and others usually have a game come out to coincide with a new engine release. That way it is tested to ensure a game can actually be made with it and that it is feature-rich enough.

Yeah not a bad idea. I was going to release this open source possibly just for people that may want to build their own from it.

That would be very cool. Of course it would go on the big list!
