I play a few Hacker games on steam but all are single player and are client based. I have not seen any web based multiplayer ones where players can hack each other as well as other jobs to make money. Trying to think of other fun features that would be more than just hacking a bank. Think it might be fun to hack back and forth as well as build clans around it and so forth. Have to buy better computers and such as well as security clearances and even player auctions with passwords and stuff.

Have a look at http://www.slavehack.com/ a game thats been around for quite a few years was made by a boy called Mike who went on to make his own company called M2H studios and uses unity nowdays i belive his game verdun is now active as are a few others .

halls, can you give me some examples of such games? Can't imagine the mechanics.

thanks for the links. Yeah seems like there are a few but even then the major thing I dont like about them is the learning curve and kind of the clunkyness I find in most of them. I wonder if more a Hacker Sim like game dev tycoon would be more appealing.

Hum, if you're thinking about making it like game dev tycoon, then I see how it will be , sort of. But isn't this type of game too technical? I took a look on that steam game screenshots and there are something that i don't think people know...
But so game dev tycoon has I guess...

My game will have a hacking component, as a "career" path or whatever. Was thinking of having a text based hacking mode and a "mini game" mode to try and cover both playing styles, I don't know though.

But hacking will definitely be one of the paths players can take in my game (a very open-ended PBBG).
