Casino Games

Post by hallsofvallhalla »

Just curios on everyones thoughts on Casino type games that are not real money. Basically a fake gambling site where you can play an assortment of games like slots, blackjack, ect..
I downloaded a slots game called Lucky Dragon Slots and spent $4.99 on chips. Was fun but the odds of winning were quite bad and I began to notice a pattern. I lost the $4.99 way fast. So then (yes call me stupid but it was for research) I spent $20 and got $300,000 in chips and began writing down the losses and wins as I played. The result was astounding. They are ripping people off terribly. Isn't the point of playing fake slots is to have fun? These guys are cheats.

I for one love casino games and really love the old console RPGish casino games. Would love to build one that was truly fair and did not allow people to pay to get ahead. One where community means something and it gave a feeling of a casino.

Some games I have in mind
Slots - Tons of different kinds.
Keno
Blackjack
Mississippi Mud
Let it Ride
Texas Holdem
Scratch Off

Then I was thinking of random events much like the old SNES casinos like random people walking up and trying to sell stuff then you can pawn it and see if it was worth what you bought. Was also thinking of "Clans" or "Gangs" that can pool money.

I was also thinking an eventual milestone of clans building their own casinos and setting the odds. They could manage it and if the odds suck people probably wont play. But if they are really good they will lose money.

to funny halls. I really can't believe you spent money for a non-money casino game.

I personally love Casino games. It doesn't matter what kind it is. I frequent the Casino often.

I only spent the $20 to see the odds. Was worth the research. Spending the $5 originally is no different than buying an non casino game and spending $5 for it. Both are for entertainment and neither pays out.

I am thinking about doing this as a C# win form app. Reason 1 is to cut down on cheating. Reason 2 is so I can add it to steam. Reason 3 is another app on the resume always looks good.

The other side of me wants to do it as a javascript, Nodejs, mongoDB app to make it accessible by everyone and can add it to facebook.

Decisions Decisions...

If they aren't paying out, you'd think they'd let the bought money last longer.

Perhaps they screwed up the game design - maybe they want the free chips to run out quickly.

But if you're buying chips and they are the same type, they'd run out quickly.

You'd be better off with two currencies, with the bought chips lasting much longer (and amount of time more proportionate to the cost of buying them)

Correct. I would want complete game of chance. No matter what.

There may be way to buy more chips later but I also would like to a way to earn chips. Referrals, posting on forums, maybe some free games that can earn chips, ect..
