Like the above link mentions, make a MediaWiki (offline, localhost only, or on a private GitHub account maybe?), turn it into a interactive design document for your game.

That was quite an interesting read. I had thought about creating a public wiki for my games, however I hadn't thought about creating a private one for design organization, for some reason. :P

An interactive design document about making the game? Sounds like making a game about making the game! And I would have to understand recurssion first before I can do that! ;)

I had a private wiki on here for a while (thanks Halls) but I could never get into using it for designing. I still prefer a Word or Open Office document.

By "interactive" I just meant hyperlinked docs and assets (flow charts, diagrams, and so on). So design document assets are just a click away, instead of having to dig around foldiers and what not.

Obviously not for a small app game, but for a MMO or PBBG it is a very serious undertaking. Game design documents for those types of games are massive documents loaded with details.

You could use OneNote or Evernote to organize everything.
