How to Create A Multiplayer First Person Shooter in Unity 5

Post by vitinho444 »

Hi guys, I've been wanting to come back here, and I did read some recent posts, but I've been (gratefully) very busy with college and other side projects.

One of those side projects, is this series of tutorials, a complete guide on how to create not only a game, but a multiplayer online game. :D
I'll also release those tutorials on Steam Video Platform with a cost (I'll explain later). As soon as I do, I'll give keys here to all you cool guys (and girls?) !!

I'm currently finishing editing and rendering the videos, which uncut have close to 6:30h of footage (wow). By the end of this, I'll setup the Steam page and I'll soon release.

What will be covered:
  • Networking Models Theory
  • Unity Setup
  • Network Setup
  • Player Setup
  • Game Controller Setup
  • Zombies (AI) Setup
  • Making things look pretty (Models import)
  • Steam and others deployment
So talking about price and why. Well I've created some free tutorials like halls did and since 2015 I've been invited to lecture several Unity Workshops in my country and I'm enjoying teaching so much. So I planned out these series as a 4.99$ video series and this is for some reasons like of course the profitability for my end (not denying), the inclusion of the full source code with the complete game and of course the amount of time I have to give to this project.

Just wanted to share here, in hope that someone here wants to hop in the Networking game development with Unity (which is reaaaaalllyyyy easy, and you'll see that in these videos). I'll give out keys (I think the video platform works with keys too doesn't it?) to whoever wants to learn :)

I want to finish this by thanking Halls (Gene), which was the person who began this wonderful project called IndieResource (for free!!) and got me into teaching and lecturing which I like.

PS: I'll also create a similar series but on how to create a Multiplayer RTS game, and I'll post here too ;)

That's awesome. $4.99 is a very reasonable price!

Thank you :) I kinda feel bad, since you didn't ask for anything and others on youtube didn't also, but I'm trying to save some money ... Still I'll give here keys to anyone who asks :)

Thank you again for your browser game tutorials that have gotten me this far!

There is nothing wrong with making money off video tutorials. That was my choice to not charge on all of them but I have charged for some.

Yap, on their "new" Video Platform. It's really cool. I think it's the best option for paid tutorials since they can't be refunded.
Also, they generate a side application where you can deposit Source Code and other files that are included with the tutorial series.

I definitely recommend it!
