But it is often cheaper just to buy the domain instead of a webhost.

But you should not run a live project on wamp, got too many security issues.

I agree with Falken. Unless you have gone to school for network security or have studied it on your own for years, use a hosting company. They are dirt cheap, and a good host has a slew of network and security professionals who keep their network safe. There is so much to know to try to set up a secure home host you could easily get lost in all of the things to do.

yeah I'm going to stick with buying it from someone. Probably go daddy

Just to let you know - Halls uses Go-daddy and at one point wanted to leave.

I use Justhost, but i'm going to switch to a dedicated server in a few (5 ish) months.

Going to be offering Hosting when I do! Indie-resource members get a discount!

sweet! You have to tell me when you do pax! And ok then I won't buy it from go daddy. Ill wait till pax get his dedicated server maybe. Because I need to create a game and still learn some php and JavaScript before I start a game
