Silverlight is not bad. I actually have been waiting for it to mature some so there are some good tuts and resources out there.

to be honest I have been playing some text based mmorpgs and omg there are soooo many terrible ones out there. I must have played 15 of them in the past 2 days and not one of them impressed me. Boring and complicated.

I think I am going to finish QOC the way I had always planned it. I think the community will like it. Maybe by the time I finish it and get all the bugs worked out I will either A. have a great community of players and I will just keep growing the game or B. have a better option for my next game. :P

Feature Creep = Continuously adding new features to a game when it is in a closer-to-launch state that are above and beyond what was originally planned for it. I have just seen a few posts where you have talked about adding new features to it hehe. I am sure it is already awesome! Just finish it up so we can play it 8-)

EDIT: Silverlight has it's pros and cons. Pros are that it is much easier to turn an application online or make it work with a database than Flash because it all interfaces with .NET easily. Cons are that writing XAML for game development sucks, and you really need Expression Blend.

ah yes then you are correct hehehe. I will have to remember that term ;)

I actually just don't want to release it in a to bare state and lose players over it. I am thinking if I drop all my other projects and concentrate on just this one I can make it graphically and game play sound.

Really? The Silverlight game development book I flipped through made no mention of it, and had the dev writing messy, odd XAML.

Do you know of any online tutorials or any books that show how to work with Silverlight this way?

You can try using SilverSprite. (http://silversprite.codeplex.com/Wikipage)
It allows you to run XNA games without changing the code in SIlverlight! :)

I went back and played some old Dragon Quest and FF games on NES and have really thought about a small re-design or direction to take QOC. Not a big overhaul, just fix the combat system and some page elements. Will give a more colorful flavor to the game and I am feeling that "beginning of a project" inspiration right now so I need to do what I can while it lasts ;)

I am actually very happy with how QOC is turning out and hope to have a true release very shortly. One that I will be pleased with and I feel will continue to update.

Right now there are just no options for me and a 3D game. I do not have the time and my knowledge in browser based games have grown so much I would be a fool not to release a browser game first. I think in the meantime I am going to learn flash more.
