Post by eltish96 »

Afternoon,

Combat War.com is going quite well! :D Got a few screenshots, so take a look and if you don't mind, sign-up to the game! (The game isn't completed as of yet. You can register, and that's about it, we'll have much more done soon!)

Looking real good. I would be cautious about telling people buying the gold version is the only way to win. It could turn people off in the beginning.

Looking good!

I agree with Halls - never turn people off by *making* them buy. Give them incentives to buy, but don't force them :)

Even if you just change it from saying "will be the difference" to "could be the difference" it would sound a lot better I think.

I actually really like the way that looks. I agree though, it should say "could be the difference", sounds epic.

Looks nice :) I also agree, however, I would go as far as to even look out for saying things like "It could make a difference". You have to get players absorbed into a F2P game before they will even consider buying anything, and you are running the risk of scaring them off by making them feel like they have to buy Gold before they even know anything about the game.

I can understand where your coming from there. I just want to try and make a bit of money off the game, i've reduced prices by abit, and with the 12 months purchase, you receive a free t-shirt! :D

I can understand wanting to make some money off of it, but just remember that players don't like the idea of spending a cent in a game until they have really gotten in to it. That is why most commercial F2P games bury their item shops or premium service subscriptions deep into the game to try to hide it until the player has had a couple of days to get sucked in.
