OK so I went the upgrade route instead of re-install route, and I get this error:

Code: Select all
Error whilst executing:
alter table users add online enum('yes','no') default 'no'

The only thing I did was add the SQL table file into PHPmyAdmin, I didn't do any of the other tables. My config file has the db info entered correctly but I'm not sure if the installer is reading the db. I'll keep poking around now that I made some (frustrating) progress.

OMG I think I got it to work! OK so here's what I did so if anyone else using WAMP has this kind of trouble, you can try these steps:

1. Go into the Install folder and open up the installer.php file in your code editor. Go to line 103 where it checks the license, and comment out the line where it returns.

2. In the Install folder open up the tables.sql file and select all and copy it. Go into PHPmyAdmin on WAMP and paste the file into the SQL part of your new worlds database. This will copy all the tables for you.

3. Go into your Config file and make sure your db info is correct in the config.php file.

4. Click on your new worlds game from the main WAMP page to start the install. Start filling in the fields.

NOTE: I ran into a snag where the installer wasn't connecting with my db correctly, and for some reason I was stuck on one of the steps and couldn't get out of it. In the installer I wrote this line at line 10

Code: Select all
session_unset();

...and I re-opened new worlds from the main WAMP page again, then I commented out the session_unset() because if you don't, you will be stuck re-looping through the first page. This allowed me to go through everything again, input the db info from the form fields (just in case something copied wonky from my code editor, it happens) and that allowed me to do a re-install which updated my entire db and made my admin account.

Seems silly to block out core code.

Do you have similar problems connecting to the update portal? I guess I will need to declare XAMPP is our official development platform.

Yeah! It is. Its hella annoying but this is the only way to get it to work with the license key still being valid.

I would not recommend leaving it broken on WAMP. WAMP is hugely popular. I have been ultra busy as of late but if I get some free time I will try to find a easy fix.

Ok guys! i did a test and we got a big problem validating the licensekey for all software when it's freshly install. yes! even on the cloud server.

i installed:

WAMP - FAIL
XAMPP - FAIL

Cloud Server(X10hosting.com) - FAIL

So it's not the software. It's the engine script! i can't figure out what is what yet but i'll try to figure it out. the more help the better guys! the best way is to compare it to the old version of NWE and see the different.

And again. Using XAMPP I have downloaded a fresh 1.1.9, changed the licenses code to mine (and several others) and had a full install with no problems.

I don't mind looking at this until I am satisfied you don't have any errors but have nothing to bit my teeth into.

Step 1: Go to Your License page
Step 2: Download full package (includes all patches) 1.1.9: Download
Step 3: Unzip locally
Step 4: Take my license key and place it into config/license.php ($engineLicenseKey='YOUR LICENSE CODE GOES HERE';) make sure there are no spaces.
Step 5: Turn on Xampp
Step 6: Create a DB
Step 7: Load site ... installing

If it is WAMP I will see if I can put that on my wife's computer and try it here.

Is there anything you are doing/not doing that is different from above?
