GUI Layout

Postby Last Known Hero » Mon Dec 16, 2013 1:52 pm

Hey here's a GUI I've been working on for the superhero game I'm working on. It's based on the City of Heroes GUI, and very very close but using all reproduction created by me so no issues with "using their images" as i made my own.

It's quality has been hurt by photobucket but here it is anyways.

Thanks, I'd hope so like i said its been designed to mimic a closed MMO's GUI  but all from scratch.
Had to check into laws of this kind of thing and it's pretty clear cut, UI's cannot be trademarked or considered a likeness, so long as I didn't use their original files!

A ton of MMORPGs would be in a lot of trouble with Blizzard if GUIs could be somehow protected, as there are dozens that are literally carbon copies of WoW's interface.

But it really looks great! I did play CoH for a few months, but for the life of me I can't remember the GUI lol. Regardless, it looks awesome!

Actually it looks better than CoH!

Not trying to get off-topic here, but is all CoH gone now? I heard that they were closing servers, but was it the entire game, including CoV?

They had combined the two games (CoH and CoV) into City of Heroes: Going Rogue, where you could go back and fourth between hero and villain status. Shortly after that they went to City of Heroes: Freedom which was freemium play with micro-transactions for new content. They closed down their server in November of 2012.

So unfortunately everything was closed down since it's all under the same name really

Ahh, OK. I only played CoH briefly a while before they released CoV. It just wasn't up my alley really, but I also never really cared for super heroes. I always thought the GUI was very nice looking, though, as is yours :)
