A robot! - hello im new.

Post by faceless »

Hello everybody

I'm new here on the forum. - see i don't know where to start, so i would like to show you, crunk - a parking-lot-bodyguard robot from a post-apocalyptic future. :P (the video version of him is a cartoon style)

Made in: 3D Max

And i also got a still picture of him. :) - a bit more seriously bruised though.

Hope it's not too bad quality to post on this forum, i have only work'd with 3D for about 4-6months.

-cheers everyone :)

F@%# YES! Another artist! I look forward to seeing more work in the future!! Your work is always good enough to be posted here, we are indie based, and mostly we only have 3 or 4 artists here compared to the massive number of programmers.

I like the character as well, very nice stylized work. :)

We programmers are all powerfullparseerror...damn, forgot the ; again...

That guy makes me think of him carefully managing the parking lot, well into a post apocalyptic future where society has gone to hell but he's still making sure no ones double parked...

He looks good AND he's got character! Nice work :)

Awesome art work. I agree with Last Known Hero, the artists are the rare commodity when it comes to making games.

There are tons of active artists in games, they are all at places like CGSociety and what not. But as this site is mainly based around Hall's tutorials, you are going to find more of the web developer variety here.

Anyway, is that model rigged? or did you just post it for the picture?

I have rigged the cartoon model - and played with it a bit.

But my animation experience is low, so i do not have many skills with rigging and animation, but i have done quite some rigging now, practicing that is.
but the main picture, is a still picture and i havent rigged that one. :)

By saying "played with it" i meant i have been experimenting with the character. :p not actually put it into play.

Do you have a video with that or any other character that you've made running through any animations? Custom-made or otherwise?
