I have seen a lot of comments on staying away and read a few reasons but thought I would ask a gain to put it all in one place. Has nay one used it? Liked it? Hated it? Stay way? Try it? ect...

I think a lot of the hate for MonoGame is actually towards Xamarin. I have heard dozens of times it is a pain in the booty to use. But on the other hand, it is the best way to be able to port C# apps to non-Windows mobile devices. There really is nothing else any better.

Yes, it is used in VS, but possibly not your version. XNA was cut from VS, I believe in VS 2012. If I remembered right, you have to drop back to VS 2010 and then use a 3rd party tool to compile the game's assets.
